Congenital Heart Disease
Congenital Heart Disease also known as CHD is child birth time disease in which development of large blood vessels nearer to heart and heart does not find proper in newborn child. Due to CHD, other heart related diseases may also be occurring. The congenital heart disease known as various names like congenital heart defect, congenital cardiovascular defect, congenital heart malformation, congenital cardiovascular disease, and congenital cardiovascular malformation. In some cases Congenital Heart Disease is found in mild situation but many patients have severe condition and need surgery.
Causes and symptoms:
Causes of Congenital Heart Disease are generally environmental like use of chemicals, side effects of drugs, infections etc. Some times genetic abnormalities like Holt-Oram syndrome, Down syndrome and Alagille syndrome may also cause of Congenital Heart Disease. If a women is careless and Patient of diabetes and takes alcohol, wrong drugs during her pregnancy time then her child
will face Congenital Heart Disease. Mother's viral infection at pregnancy is also a main reason to happen congenital heart disease. In many cases Congenital Heart Disease are observed in youths because these was not very severe at birth time.
Types and Treatment:
Patent ductus arteriosus, Hypo plastic left heart syndrome, Obstruction defects, Septal defects, Cyanotic defects, Brugada syndrome, Marfan syndrome are the various types of Congenital Heart Disease in which blood vessels my be blocked or partially opened, left heart may be less developed and blood leakage from any valves of heart may be found.
Treatment of Congenital Heart Disease:
Treatment of Congenital Heart Disease is based on the extent of the disease. If disease is not in severe condition than no treatment is required but malformation. In extent condition of Congenital Heart Disease surgical procedures by expert surgeons and proper monitored and medications by a heart specialist are required.
