HOW IS CANCER TREATED?

There are different methods for cancer treatment by which various cancers are usually treated.

    . Surgery
    . Radiotherapy
    . Chemotherapy
. Other drugs - The cancer can also be treated by other treatments other than surgery, radiotherappy and chemotherapy.

Some of them are like :

Hormonal Treatments:

Hormone therapy for cancer treatment is used to alter the particular hormones in the person's body to control the cancer. This can be done by several ways like Preventing the hormones from receiving the signals which are necessary for their growth.
Prevent the body from producing the hormones by removing that organ from the body.
This type of cancer treatment is used only for hormones sensitive cancer.

Targeted Therapy:

This type of treatment is used to treat only the cancer cells and reduce the damage to the normal cells. In other cancer treatment like radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the normal cells are also destroyed with the cancer cells. And this leads to many other side effects. Different type of mechanism are used for the target cancer cells treatment like Anti-angiogenic drugs, Monoclonal antibodies.

Vaccines:

Vaccines are used to stimulate the immune system of the body to recognize cancer cells and destroy them. Vaccines usually contain proteins found on or produced by cancer cells.
