Today many cancer diseases are cured by chemotherapy treatment. Sometimes more than one anticancer agent are used as anti-cancer drugs in chemotherapy to obtain more effective results, this type of chemotherapy is called as combination chemotherapy.

Depending on the type of cancer chemotherapy can classify in following categories.

This action stops the cancer cell formation. Busulfan, cisplatin, carboplatin, chlorambucil, cyclophosphamide are few examples of alkylating agents.

Antimetabolites Medication : Antimetabolites are a class of anti-cancer drugs those works by interfering DNA and RNA growth and blocks multiplication of cancer cells by which they can't survive and grow. Examples of antimetabolites drugs include 5-fluorouracil, gemcitabine, cytarabine (ara-C) and fludarabine etc.

Nitrosoureas chemotherapy medications: These are also anti-cancer drugs mainly used to treat brain tumors. Nitrosoureas agents have quality to cross blood-brain barrier and repairs DNA.

Anti-tumor Antibiotic medications: These drugs helps in cancer treatment by interfere DNA of cancer cells. In result of this medication, changes in membranes that surround cells and enzymes blockage.
